The Best Part About Being Dean of University College
The best part of being Dean of University College is the chance I get each summer to witness what it means to so many students to experience our pre-college programs. Whether they have participated in-person or virtually, it is terrifically energizing to see how high school students from across the country, and around the globe, can come together to create an intellectually committed, socially engaged, and welcoming and fun community of people who really care about their work, the world, and each other.
In their interactions with our outstanding faculty and staff in classes and labs, through their presentations and projects, in their heartfelt remarks in the closing ceremonies, and in all the informal encounters that our programs facilitate each day, it is vividly clear how much our students learn and grow.
Along with continuing our richly-interactive virtual offerings, we are excited to welcome students back to the campuses of Tufts next summer. As a residential or commuter student you will get an introduction to what makes college life such a transformational experience, along with the opportunity to meet all those who stand ready to support and challenge you throughout your journey.
And with our wide-ranging programs in international relations, mini-med school, coding, studio art and graphic design, engineering, entrepreneurship, climate resilience, leadership for social change, and the cutting-edge seminars in The Tufts Summer Accelerator, I know you will find something new to explore.
I and the entire University College team hope we will have a chance to get to know you and all you can bring to our Tufts Pre-College programs!
