I have always been a tinkerer, interested in robots, drones and airplanes. As a rising senior, I am very curious about Engineering as a career and the Summer Engineering Design Lab gave me an excellent opportunity to learn much more about the field. The program also gave me the opportunity to build robots, meet Tufts faculty and engage with like-minded peers. My favorite day was when we learned how to use the mounted camera to search for and identify a ball, using machine learning/computer vision. Another highlight of the program was the number of engineers that came to speak to us in the mornings.The wide range of engineers, fromBiomedical to Mechanical, allowed me to learn a lot more about the different fields within engineering and gave me a better idea of what each field was like. The faculty and TA’s were really patient, knowledgeable and good at troubleshooting.My experience at Tufts SummerEngineering was very positive, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about Engineering.
