I signed up for the Lab Science Investigations: Antimicrobial Resistance Program. I chose to participate in this particular program because it addressed the emerging epidemic of AMR infections and allowed me to explore my passions in and out of the lab. I have always been fascinated by science and the emergence of diseases, and this program gave me a much deeper understanding of the mechanisms by which diseases spread. Most importantly, I learned how diseases can impact every area of the world in a different way and how socioeconomic status plays into prevention and treatment measures.
