A Glimpse Into My Future: Experiencing Med School at Tufts Pre-College
Mini Med School: Clinical Experiences at Tufts Pre-College Programs was a wonderful program that exposed high-school students to what Med School looks like. This great exposure gave many students a variety of opportunities to showcase or apply new skills they learnt at different aspects either through dentistry, CPR, suturing, diagnosing patients, trauma care, Stan lab, putting IVs in, checking vitals, dissection, lectures from medical professionals, research experience and other clinical experiences.
Overall, this program pushed individuals to think outside the box and act like Medical professionals. Personally, I loved this summer program because it enhanced my knowledge on the medical field, and I cherished all the hands-on experiences this program contained. In addition, this program was a great way to meet people like other medical students, doctors, people part of the admission office, etc. and make friends who share the same interest as you.
I came out of this program with a clear understanding of the Med School world and a layout of what I should plan or start thinking about for the future. I recommend this program for anyone who has an idea of wanting to pursue a future in the medical field and wants to be exposed to what real Med School looks like.
