SMFA Studio Art: Exploring Mediums and Museums at Tufts Pre-College

My experience in Pre-College was great. I learned new things and took classes I would have never tried. In the SMFA Studio Art Intensive, I experienced a total of three classes: Drawing and Painting, 3D, and Animation

I thought the animation course was interesting, I started by creating a storyboard, followed by making figures of the characters and drawing the backgrounds. Once I had all the prep work done, I was able to take pictures frame by frame and combine them into an animation. Finally, audio and editing were added. In this way, my animation was complete.

The field trips in the program were also very enjoyable, SMFA took us to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, as well as the MFA. Both museums were a great way for me to learn more about the texture of objects as well as the patterning. Sketching in the museum also helped me understand more clearly the relationship between space and objects.

I really enjoyed the Pre-College Program, I made new friends and learned new mediums of material from it. It was a truly memorable experience that I will continue to remember.
